In order to further improve the level of food safety assurance and make people feel more at ease, my country has successively issued a number of national food safety standards.
 
Recently, according to the "Food Safety Law", the National Health and Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued Announcement No. 7 of 2020, releasing 42 new national food safety standards, including the "National Food Safety Standard for Food Nutrition Enhancer Inositol ( 10 quality specifications for food nutrition fortifiers such as Cyclohexanol)", 22 quality specifications for food additives (including 4 amendments) such as "National Food Safety Standard for Food Flavor", "National Food Safety Standard for Food Cold Chain" Logistics Hygiene Standard, Production and Operation Standard, etc.
 
As far as the quality specifications and standards of food nutrition fortifiers are concerned, in recent years, the national standards for food nutrition fortifiers have been continuously supplemented and improved to further protect public nutrition and promote citizens' health. However, food safety problems are still common due to the misuse of food additives such as nutritional fortifiers. The release of 10 quality specifications and standards for food nutrition fortifiers, including "National Food Safety Standard for Food Nutrition Fortifier Inositol (Cyclohexyl Hexitol)", plays an important role in further regulating the use of nutrition fortifiers and restricting the addition behavior.
 
Nutritional fortifiers are used to supplement the nutritional deficiencies of food, improve the nutrient composition and nutrient ratio in food, meet people's nutritional needs, and cover a wide range of people. The release of the national food safety standard for nutritional fortifier inositol (cyclohexanol) further regulates and restricts the use and addition of inositol to ensure the quality of milk powder.
 
Food safety has become a hot issue of concern to the general public, so any nutrient needs to be added and used reasonably in order to play its role better. The release and implementation of mandatory national basic standards is of great significance to standardize and scientifically guide food fortification behaviors and avoid the resulting nutritional imbalances or excess nutrients. The production enterprises should strengthen the management, carry out production within the standards stipulated by the state, and ensure that the food additives used are safe and compliant.
